Saint Thomas the Apostle School is a Catholic elementary school in Old Bridge, New Jersey, within the Diocese of Metuchen. Not only do we offer a quality Catholic education for students in Pre-K3 to 8th grade, but we align our curriculums with the New Jersey State Standards. We are committed to educating both minds and hearts.
Our students feel safe and cared for in our inclusive family atmosphere. From Pre-K to 2nd grades, every classroom boasts both a teacher and an instructional aide. Having another adult in each classroom adds to the implementation of differentiating instruction. In grades 1-8, we also utilize IXL, an online learning platform, to differentiate concepts in both language arts and math.
The block schedule allows in-depth learning opportunities with an emphasis on Language Arts and Math. In addition to the core academic subjects, the students also have classes in physical education, art and music, digital tecnology, and spanish. Extracurricular activities in athletics and fine and performing arts are also offered.
Technology is used in every classroom. All students in grades 1-8 are issued a chrome book to enhance the learning experience. New computers have been installed in our technology lab and all grades from Pre-K3 through 8th grade are equipped with interactive Prometheam Boards. Our Maker Bot Lab has 2 3D printers that are used in our science and math classes.
Finally, Saint Thomas the Apostle School is dedicated to teaching moral discipline to every student – choosing the right path, not the easy one. By staying true to our core values of faith, service, and respectful leadership, we create opportunities for our students to grow in the tradition of a loving and learning environment. The school body attends mass monthly and participates in prayer services throughout the year.
