Welcome!
My name is Mrs. McKee and I am the 5A homeroom teacher, as well as the 5th and 6th grade Language Arts teacher here at Saint Thomas the Apostle School. As parents and teacher, we work together to achieve a common goal to support our students throughout the school year. If your student needs some additional support on any Language Arts skills, I am available at recess time most days for extra help, all students need to do is ask for a lunch pass prior to lunch. Parents, transparent communication is the key to a successful year. February 13th: Valentines Day Dress Down
(Reminder to 5A families: Our class will be celebrating Valentines Day on 2/13 with a dress down day and a treat from Mrs. McKee during lunch. If you child would like to bring in Valentines cards to celebrate, he/she must bring in enough for each student in the class (21 students).Valentines that contain food items (candy, chocolates, etc.) are NOT permitted to be distributed. However, a non food item like an eraser, sticker, or pen/pencil is perfectly fine so all children may enjoy. As always, thank you for your continued support and Happy Valentines Day!)
February 14th & 17th: No School (Presidents Day)Reminders
5A Homeroom- Gym is on Fridays. Please come to school prepared wearing your gym uniform, white socks, and black or white sneakers on gym day (Fridays). Thank you!A Note on Dismissal:If your child has any changes to dismissal, please send in a note with your student indicating the dismissal change. If the dismissal change is last minute, please contact the main office and they will be sure to let me know. A lot of learning goes on during the day, and I am not always available to check my email. Thank you!Peanut & Tree Nut Free PolicyTo ensure the health and safety of all students, we are a peanut and tree nut free classroom. Some general announcements:- All work for Language Arts, all pages of grammar and reading workbooks, anything handed in--- must be written in INK AND CURSIVE. Erasable pen is fine.
